National Grid’s Home Energy Affordability Team

Launched April 1, 2017, Home Energy Affordability Team℠ (HEAT℠) is here to help bring energy efficiency and comfort to those individuals who qualify. Homeowners and renters residing in a single-family home or residential buildings with 1-4 units who are listed as the person of record responsible for the natural gas service, who meet income guidelines or receive HEAP, SNAP or public assistance, are eligible. If you qualify, HEAT℠ will make arrangements with one of their skilled energy specialists to conduct a no-cost assessment of your home. The energy specialist will perform a top-to-bottom evaluation of the home, both inside and out, to find areas where you can save money. Customers may also qualify for no-cost energy-saving improvements such as:

• Installation of water-saving devices (faucet aerators, low-flow showerheads)

• Installation of health and safety devices (carbon monoxide detectors)

• Attic insulation, weather stripping, duct sealing, and air sealing

• In certain cases we may repair or replace your natural gas appliances (heating systems, domestic hot water heaters)

For more information view the HEAT Fact Sheet and HEAT Brochure.
