The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program offers ongoing, free support groups facilitated by a social worker or master level social work intern.

Weekly Groups

Topic: General

Day: Mondays

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Women who are recently diagnosed with breast cancer will have the opportunity to meet with others in similar situations in this group.

Topic: Caregivers of People with Breast Cancer

Day: Mondays

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Taking care of a person with breast cancer can be stressful. This group is designed to address the needs of caretakers. Any person who is experiencing the stress and anxiety of caring for a loved one with breast cancer is welcome.

Topic: Young Women 40 and Under

Day: Wednesdays

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM

Women under the age of 40 who are diagnosed with breast cancer have unique needs. This support group will focus on those unique needs while allowing the members to share their feelings in a safe, supportive environment.

Bi-Weekly Group

Topic: Stage 4/Metastatic Breast Cancer

Day: Thursdays

Time: 6:30 - 8:30 PM

Meet with other women who have been diagnosed with Stage 4/metastatic breast cancer.

Monthly Groups

Topic: Touchstone Group

Day: Last Monday of the month

Time: 6:00 - 7:30 PM

This group is for any breast cancer survivor who has received their last treatment more than 18 months ago. The group will meet monthly to discuss a book that focuses on cancer and coping. Discussing a book with characters on similar journeys can elicit empathetic conversations about our own journeys and connect us to other survivors.

Nicotine Anonymous ("NicA")

Nicotine Anonymous ("NicA") is a non-profit 12-step fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. Nicotine Anonymous welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help all those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The Fellowship offers group support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine.

Willing Hearts Helpful Hands Support

Support groups offer a safe haven for caregivers to share their feelings, talk through issues, develop coping strategies, and learn about community resources. Support groups link caregivers, family and friends of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia with other caregivers to provide information and support. Groups are open to people who are involved with the care and support a family member with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia. Group leaders are experienced in answering the questions and concerns of new caregivers. We offer a variety of groups including, in person, by telephone, and virtually to fit your needs.
