A 12 week exercise program for cancer survivors, that meet twice per week. It also includes a FREE 3-month membership to the YMCA. Program starts March 13, 2019. Click here for informational flyer.
|Diabetes Self-Management Education Program||
American Diabetes Association Recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education Program starts January 24, 2019, at Stony Brook Hospital. Classes meet at Stony Brook Hospital lobby conference room 1, 9:30 to 11:30 am. Provider referrals are required. Prior to enrolling in class participants must schedule a 1:1 assessment with Patty Skala, RN, CDE, 631-444-0580. For additional information and questions call 631-444-9954. The SAGE-LI OUTdoors program provides older adults with the opportunity to decrease social isolation, meet their peers, and experience what Long Island has to offer in efforts to enhance well-being. Trips range anywhere from museums to live performances, wine tastings, East End excursions and much more.

|Connections: Child and Family Bereavement Support Program||
Good Shepherd Hospice offers a FREE, professionally run, 8 week bereavement group program for children ages 5-17 years old and their caregivers who have experienced a death of a loved one. Children engage in therapeutic activities that encourage emotional healing, increase understanding, development of healthy coping skills and preservation of memories. Adult caregivers attend their own concurrent support group, where they will learn about the nature of their children’s grief and how to best support them.
